Make It Yours

Nearly everything about the island can be changed in the settings app. The live preview on the left shows each change as you make it, and Undo (Ctrl + Z) takes it back.

Tip

Can't find something? Type in the search box at the top. It understands typos and other words for the same thing ("transparent" finds Opacity, "dnd" finds Quiet hours), and shows the closest settings when nothing matches.

Shape and size

• Style: a notch flush with the top of the screen, or a floating pill.
• The closed width and height of each style, and the open width and height.
• Corner rounding, closed and open, and the gap from the top of the screen.
• The size of the whole island, from 70% to 150%.

Colours and font

• Background: any colour, solid, as a gradient, or tinted by the album. Light colours are shown a little darker so the text stays readable.
• Opacity, an outline in any colour, and a soft glow.
• Accent: from the album, or your own colour.
• Font: Inter, Segoe UI, Outfit, Cascadia Mono or your system's. The clock can be 12 or 24-hour, with seconds.

Motion

Full, subtle or reduced animations, how springy opening is, and how fast everything moves.

Opening and gestures

• Open when the mouse rests on it (and for how long), or on a click.
• How long it stays open after the mouse leaves.
• What double-click and middle-click do: play or pause, next song, mute, settings, record, snap, start the timer.
• What the mouse wheel does on the open island: the volume, or nothing.
• Peek shortcut: Ctrl + Alt + Space (or another) opens the island from anywhere.

The closed island

• What goes in its left, middle and right slots.
• What may take over the middle, in your order.
• Tuck away when idle: a thin line or a faded pill.
• The privacy dot, and a dot while Hop Clipper is recording.

Where it shows

• Your main screen, the screen the mouse is on, or a chosen screen.
• Hide in these apps: it steps aside while one of them is in front.
• Battery use: Smart and Low refresh less while the island is closed.

Profiles, themes and CSS

• Profiles: save everything as it is, and switch back any time. A profile can switch on by itself when an app is in front (a gaming profile for your game, for example).
• Theme code: your look as a short code to share. Paste someone's code to wear their look.
• Copy as CSS: your whole look as CSS anyone can paste into Custom CSS.
• Custom CSS: anything else, added to the island's page.

Backup

Export saves all your settings to a file on your Desktop; Import brings them back. Make zip puts Hop's logs in one file for a bug report.
