Updating and Uninstalling

How Hop tells you about new versions, and how to remove it.

Updating

Both apps look for a new release when your PC starts, and once a day after that. When there is one, choose Update now to open the release page, download the new installer and run it. Hop Clipper's tray menu also has Check for updates.

You can always get the newest installer from the download page, and see what changed in the release notes.

Run the new installer over the old version. There is no need to uninstall first: it closes the running apps, replaces their files and keeps your settings.

Uninstalling

Use Uninstall Hop in the Start menu's Hop folder, or remove Hop from Windows Settings under installed apps. The uninstaller closes both apps first.

Important

Uninstalling removes the apps, not your things. Your settings and your clips stay where they are.

To remove those too, delete the folders listed in Files and Settings.

Reporting a bug

Check Troubleshooting first. Otherwise, open an issue on GitHub. For Hop Clipper problems, attach clipper.log from %LOCALAPPDATA%\clipper.
