Tools and Focus
The command palette, the rain radar, highlights by game, auto-clip, and a Focus you aim yourself.
The Tools button in the open island's top bar holds four tools. They arrived in Hop 0.1.5.
Command palette
Press Ctrl + K on the open island, or pick it from Tools. Type what you want and press Enter:
| Type | To |
|---|---|
next | Skip to the next song |
timer | Start a timer |
clip | Save a clip |
pill | Switch the island's shape |
quiet | Silence pop-ups |
Those are examples: start typing and the list narrows down. Hover a row to pick it; the mouse wheel scrolls the list.
Rain radar
The last two hours of rain over your city, on a map you drag and zoom. The time bar shows when each frame was taken, with play, pause and scrubbing. If Hop doesn't know your city yet, it asks.
Highlights
Your clips from the last two weeks, grouped by game, with how often you watched each. Click a clip to play it on the island. The bin moves it to the Recycle Bin, so you can still get it back.
Auto-clip
Hop Clipper saves the last moments by itself when a notification contains one of your words. For example: a friend types "gg" in Discord, and the moment is saved without you pressing F8. You choose the words and the apps it listens to.
Tip
Keep the words short and specific to a moment you'd want to keep. A common word like "ok" would save clips all day.
Focus
Focus keeps the island calm while you play or work. Turn it on in Settings → Focus:
- In any full-screen app, by itself.
- In the apps you pick, with one-click picks for Roblox, Claude Code, Minecraft, Valorant and more.
- Windows' own Focus and Do not disturb still count.
While focus is on
- Hold pop-ups until focus ends, instead of dropping them.
- Let AI agents through, so an agent that needs you still reaches you.
- Keep the music moving.
- Mute Hop's sounds.
- Dim the island, reduce motion, or use a bigger, high-contrast pill.
Pop-ups also have their own quiet settings: see Quiet times.
